    Computer glitches...ARGH!

I've spent the past two evenings working on a database (Excel spreadsheet) for a mailing list - over 2800 records. Last night I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. deleting duplicates, capitalizing where needed, etc., so I could send it to the printer. I saved several times along the way, or at least that's what I thought was happening. When I plugged the flash drive in the computer at work, it appears that there was the same data set that I started out with - no corrections at all! So today I spent about ten hours on it again...sigh. But this time, I know it's done. I need to replace my home computer and get new software. It isn't going to be cheap!

Sorry to hear about that. I know the frustration. Apparently things have not improved since I met my first computer in the '70s! Every morning a pile of paper -- each one was from my errors the day before -- would hit my desk. I made peace with them for about 30 years, but now it has come full circle. I have returned to tech ignorance -- cell phones have completely defeated me lately.

You are speaking the truth! I have to upgrade my home computer, because it cannot take Windows 11 and Microsoft will not support Windows 10 later this year, I think. And my iPhone 7 won't be supported soon, so I need to upgrade that as well. Thank goodness I know this great locally-owned business who has the best refurb computers and will do the data transfer for me as well as making sure everything does what it's supposed to do. AND they are authorized iPhone providers, so I'll be upgrading that soon also. Summer is getting expensive...

My laptop is still Windows 10. I fought that for as long as I could, as I will Windows 11 !! I just don't need all that stuff. My laptop is a tablet/laptop -- I have no idea how to use the tablet side. I have 2 (old) small tablets for reading ebooks and just checking things. I learned to type many years ago, I need a full-sized tablet with a full-sized keyboard to function do everything else. I know I am going to have to replace it soon because I've got duct tape holding the cracks together on the bottom. Not looking forward to that.
