    I HATE my cable company

My ds has been bugging me to switch to cable internet since he came home 2 years ago. They finally came up with an offer that was sweet enough plus I was getting fed-up with my phone company's DSL. I bundled-up my cable/internet/phone & added another dvr box. Installation was free. This should have cost me $130/month. I would/should have ended up saving around $50/month.
Got my bill last month & it was for $275. Ok I figured it was pro-rated since this was between billing cycles & I bought my modem. Got my bill yesterday & it was $275. Not happy PLUS for the past week the only way I can get online is through my smartphone & my smartphone is smarter than I am.
What annoys me is I live in a area that is "grandfathered-in" so I don't have a choice of phone or cable carriers.

I too hated DSL. Always had problem. Got cable and loved it. I never bundle. It is always more expensive than they say. We did add cable tv and every month the bill got higher. We had basic cable tv and internet for $150. Cancelled the tv part. Now we have internet for $50, magic jack for $10 a year and stream hulu plus and netflix $23 a month netzero internet. Looking to say bye bye to Comcast.

I have uverse. All the pay channels and the fastest Internet connection they offer in home. It's about 250 a month for all of it. We could shave about a hundred off but hubby won't go down on his speeds and since I don't work and am home all day I don't want to give up my pay channels. It makes him mad but I'm not gonna be bored! 275 does seem a little excessive if you have basic everything though.

That seems very high. I have digital cable and high speed internet and pay $122 a month. It would cost $25 more to add on a phone but I like my regular phone company. I'd be calling to complain and find out why they are charging so much. I'd have had a heart attack if I got a bill that high.

I don't have cable, dish, satellite, landline or DSL.

    I pay $0 a month.

I decided a long time ago, I'm not paying to watch tv.

I have digital cable with all the high def channels and a high def DVR and my DSL is the next to highest speed and I have a land line and y'all are all overpaying. My cable is $ 65.00 a month and the dsl & phone (I don't have caller id or that other stuff) and that bill is $ 65.00. I have had internet with my cable company and it sucked. The problem with cable internet is the more people in your area on the service slows it down. Mine was almost as bad as dial up. I love my dsl. However, I still wonder why I keep my landline.

I do not feel as if I am over paying. I have all the movie channels as well as my husbands internet (which his company reimburses), hd channels and dvrs... our phone is vonage and is less than 10 a month... and not only is it cheaper than anyone else in town I can also record 4 at a time and have about twice the size of a hard drive in our dvr boxes than the competitors. But quite frankly, even if I am over paying I do not give two behinds... I do not work and I will not go w/out my cable unless I have no other choice... we've been there, I have gone w/out... I won't die, but if I don't gotta I'm not gonna.

yes you do! go to best buy and get the info on cable replacement. it was announced on msnbc news. it may cost you about $150.00 start up & $20.00 a month after.. in order to get basic cable & local stations you have to sign up for "hula - plus". sorry i can't be more specific i'm not good at remembering things. you can go on-line & check msnbc (technology) or google hula plus for more info

AND if you have Windows 7, you can go to (Desktop Gadget Gallery) for WINDOWS MEDIA and get FREE TV via the internet too!

You would need a six year old to get you all hooked up tho.

ALSO, if you have a TV that has Viera, its all ready pre-programed for TV stations, and Hulu Plus.

The major problem with this is, getting decent rate for the interent, and the speed needed.

    Easiest would be --
Click on the Windows icon: Then type in GADGET GALLERY, (in the search programs and file box) and it will come up on the list, click on it. They have a ton of cute little gadgets and apps.
Thats easier then telling you to go thru 5 different steps.
