We don't have caller ID. We don't own a cell phone. We only use a landline. We do have an answering machine and could let all calls go to that but I would rather not. We just put up with the charity/political/cc services, etc., complain about it and go on. Got to say that if this is the worst thing that goes on in my life, I am in good shape. Not criticizing anyone else for their opinions, just being grateful that today the small stuff is still small stuff and I don't have much big stuff going on in my life right now.

You're right... it is small stuff. And while I do hate the phone, I don't care so much that the calls come in... I'm just glad I don't have to get up to find out who it is lol. I was a telemarketer once... they're just doing a job like every one else... we may not like them, but at least they are working for an honest days pay instead of breaking the law and hurting others in the process.

Well 2 calls so far today. From automated Alice. No sense in trying to talk to the live person, they don't listen or take your number off their system.
Probably get at least 1 more before the afternoon is over. Hey, call in the evening and get and earful from my hubby.
I feel for telemarketers but the companies they work for are crazy.

If you are on the Do Not Call Registry then they are breaking the law and are NOT honest they are criminals no matter how you want to spin it. So I treat criminals like I prefer - I berate the heck out of them they deserve it.

They have no control over who the computer dials. We've told you this before. The company is breaking the law NOT the person you are berating. They're just trying to pay rent and feed their kids... But hey, if being rude gets your rocks off I can't stop you.

I hate these. I always pressed 3 or whatever one it was to opt out and it never worked. Finally, I decided to talk to a rep and when she answered I stated something similar to, "This is Attorney Speedygirl's Office and you've mentioned that you can help me lower my CC rate." The girl said that they must have called the wrong # and I haven't heard from them since.
