    Angry Laundry!!!

    Specifically white clothes!!

When did we stop washing white clothes in hot water??

Call me crazy, but I LIKE my white clothes to be WHITE. Why are we now washing them in cold water?? Cold water just makes them turn gray faster. (IMO)

I just went through my (new) clothes to start doing laundry, and thought I'd have a pile of plain whites big enough to do alone. But now I have 4 small piles of whites!

Whites in hot water with bleach.........

whites in cold water, no bleach..........

whites in warm water, non-chlorine bleach......

whites in warm water, with like colors, no bleach.......

    WTH???

Seriously?? How is a white shirt going to stay clean when handwashing in cold water??

There must be something with the water here.......I have to use some type of bleach on my brites or they get dull real fast.

I also wash towels by themselves. Oh, and red clothes get washed by themselves too. I have a lot of reds! lol (and red tends to 'run')

I don't even separate my colors. Except for underwear/socks, towels and red stuff... it all goes in at the same time. Red is alone. Towels and undies in hot at the same time. My whites don't turn grey... my dryer likes to eat the edges of my towels, but that's really my only issue w/ laundry.

I always seperate my whites/lites and use hot water & OxyClean, not bleach. Too me, bleach turns everything yellowish.

I do all of my whites at once too. I use Tide with Bleach Alternative and OxyClean.

Are you on a well, 3lilpigs? I'm on a well and I think that is why my whites get a dingy look to them. I only wash my dishrags, dishtowels and white socks in hot bleach water. My other whites usually cold water no bleach, hubby breaks out in a rash if I use bleach on his underclothes.

I wash lights in one load - cold water and darks in cold water too. My washer actually has more settings for cold water - tap water, cold dark colors, cold lights, cold whites then just cold. Too darn confusing. When my socks get dingy I wash them with sheets in cold with bleach. I don't think I have ever used hot or warm water when washing.
