i have $500 to buy groceries...for a month for 3
can do it, but not when son jesse will take my card, and use the #
to buy $30 worth of pizza...especially when i cannot eat the toppings...
(diabetic)...
I am not use to a vent & whine post, but maybe this will be
placed there?
I know the obvious answers..but how do ya tell a 22 yr old, that his

Hurtful, crying, waana loving smiles for my son...

Put your card somewhere he can not get it..
Tell him to get a job if he wants to buy things..
$500 a month for food is pretty good...I dont even come close to spending that..If you shop sales and coupons you can save even more..
If your going to court w/ a lawyer, and you ex didnt show, he may be in contempt, and maybe you can get them to make him pay your fees??
Hope it all works out!
Hugs

Yeah, I'll take that $500! We're only 2 here and maybe spend $200 a month. I agree with Sunflowers. At 22 he should be working at least a part-time job if he's going to college and full-time if not. And if he's tried VERY VERY hard to get a job and still cannot I think he needs to make himself very useful in some regard, whether in the community, at home, whatever. For a young man to sit around the house or out galavanting..it's not emotionally healthy for him. All that said, I don't know your situation or your relationship.

Hun you aren't doing him any favors by supporting him at 22. My 26 year old still lives at home...sigh...but he does work full time, pays his bills including student loans & is interviewing this afternoon for a part time job. He also helps out with bills & helps around the house.
What would this kid do if suddenly tomorrow you were no longer around? You are not doing him any favor. Sorry to be so blunt. If my kid used my credit/debit card for pizza he probably wouldn't be living here anymore.
Is this the same son who was plotting to physically hurt you?
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.

Yep...what she said!!! I would not be tolerating a thief in my home...and that's what your son is...A THIEF!!! Of course, we love our children. But, it's our job as parents to teach them right and wrong, and somewhere, your son missed the lesson on what's wrong.
However...this is the V/W board for a reason. You may be handling the issue separately and just wanted to vent about what he did. So...hugs to you!!!
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

Carrolin we all care about you but you have to tell him to grow up. As for the pizza unless it is covered in chocolate and ice cream you can eat some just not a bunch - diabetes is about portion size. Explain the reality of what is going on at your house to him and the reality of what that does to you. Heck if he wants pizza go to Walmart and get a Digiorno - 5.47 for a pizza.

(((CARROLIN))) I know it is hard but you just have to tell him.

Maybe its time to give him a deadline to get a job and hen to move out, studio apartments are cheap. For a family of 3 we spend $200 a month and eat very well, just make everything from scratch. Who told you that you couldnt eat pizza if you have diabetes? You can eat everything and anything you want in moderation, have 2 pieces of pizza or 1 piece of cake, just dont eat a whole pizza or a whole cake.
Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching

Maybe dispute the charges but that would involve pressing charges against him. I sure as heck would!

I have a friend at work, married with 4 kids, she allows herself $300 month for groceries. As she puts it, they might not be gourmet fancy dinners, but it gets us through the night... tough times all over. $500 a month for 3 is most excellent!
So does your son know your card #, and have it written down somewhere? If so, I would call and request another card from whom ever this card is through, with a whole new number and everything. That way he won't be able to use it. Walmart pizzas I found out are the bomb... LOL!! yummy.
I don't know what you can do about your son, especially if this is the one that tends to show violence toward you. I guess if you put your foot down, and he shows attitude/violence, you should call the police, and make a report, and have him kicked out! Does he have any friends he can go to?
