((jasmine)) The weather sure has been wacky all over, but every now and then this kinda thing happens. Extreme seasons (to what we're used to).....if only it were 74 and sunny year round. *sigh* I always tell my DH that I'm afraid to to go California....I may not come back. I keep dropping the hint, but he hasn't bought me a one-way ticket yet.

We get those feet of snow in the winter, icy roads and bitter cold. I'll take that twice to avoid the horrible heat. It's been in the high 80's - mid 90's here this summer with high humidity and it's been awful. I haven't lived in Dallas for 15 years but the memory of the heat is still a nightmare.

It's bad here in Houston, too. No rain in sight and we haven't had rain in MONTHS. I'm about ready to do an indian rain dance or something. Temps. are getting in the 100's. Honestly the last time I can remember it being so hot here was in the 70's, that's w/rain. Called it the "Texas Heatwave 76". We survived it, but it was in the 100's back then, too. We need rain to get some relief. I'm not looking forward to the blackouts, either. That'll just make it hotter. Ours are supposed to last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour at any given time. I'd give anything for our "cooler" weather we have in the fall....even our small snow we had last year. This is truly the hottest and worst summer in Houston I've experienced in over 30 years. On a strange note: I did see a couple of my neighbors over the weekend outside spraying their lawns w/that lawn spray to make it green. I guess some will do anything for a green lawn. We're also having voluntary water rationing.....that really sucks.

We have mandatory rationing... there's even a small town to the east of us where the city turned their water off... they have no water... to wash dishes, bathe, drink... they've lost over a million gallons caused by shifting ground that burst their pipes... So much for a nor easter being required to do that!

I get what y'all are saying about hating the heat but honestly IMHO I love it hot. Personally I really love being able to take a quick shower, throw on undies, a sundress & flip flops & head off to work. What I hate is having to spend an hour drying my hair, layering clothes, putting on boots & having to heat up the car before going to work. Then it takes forever for the office to warm up. To each their own...is what makes the world go around.
I'll take your heat & give you my snow.

Come on down!!!! I'll trade houses w/you for now. Aggie's from MI so I'm used to the cold. I truly can't remember it being this hot/humid since the 70's here.

Yea but the house would probably come with Aggie included & know if he left me stranded by the side of the road he would be the one in need of the wheelchair
Personally I just hate cold weather. I spend a small fortune on pool chemicals for a pool I can only use maybe 2 months a year. 2 weeks ago the water was like a bath tub. Monday I froze my tush off.
