petty vent here..
Jon just called me on his break from work. Somehow we got on the conversation of xmas and he said he's taking me to the jewelry store to pick out my sapphire ring...damn it i want HIM to pick it out, it makes it more special...

so compromise give him 4-5 that you really like to pick from that way he still picks it out but you know your going to get one you like

Me too. That way it'll be a surprise to you but he'll still know he got you something you really wanted. Men like to get you what you want and I believe they're afraid you wont like it. So I've learned to give my husband things to choose from. But he still gets me some I don't know what they are.

I do that too. I put a lot of things I'd like to have on my wishlist at Amazon or somewhere. That way I still get a surprise AND something I want.

DH is good at surprising me, like he will buy tix for me to a concert or something, but he is horrible at picking out jewelry, presents, clothes, anything. So I gave up on that part and let him suprise me his way. I just go out and buy what I want now and say hey thanks for the whatever. LOL

lol just be thankful you have someone who thinks enough of you to want to buy you something.... I won't be getting any gifts this year.. but i've been working hard at buying for the boys all year and they will have a good christmas this year. AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.....

lol just be glad , shesh my hubby has no clue
he is such a scrooge about xmas , lol i have to do all the shopping for his familys presents, and if he does pick something its tacky , lol
once in a while its appropriate , lol i ve litterly given him links to something i wanted and its like duhhhhhhhhhh , and ive given him several ideas believe me , lol and what does he say this morning , well what would you like for xmas.. ,,,,,,,,,,, i told him figure it out . lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,, ive even got an amazon wanted list , he sure peruses his , but mine.......... duhhhhh
my son is the same way , maybe its the computer geek syndrome .......... lol you d think my hubby was his dad , they both are the same ,,,,,,,,, lol geeks,,,,,,,, cant compute them cant delete them ,,,,,,,,,my son joshua when he was 18 now deceased in 2002 , always remembered always loved

I know petty vents can seem huge, but at least he is taking you. Mine just tosses me some cash and says go get yourself something nice. LOL I swear he has no romance left but he does have other good qualities.
