Just needed somewhere to let out frustrations...
I absolutely hate the holiday season. I have never felt this upset before, and lately all I do is cry. This will be the first year that I wont be able to get my son not one present. It totally sucks. I am a single mom with absolutely NO help. I work everyday, pay all my bills, and what happens? I get sick and it took a big chunk out of my check. I have tried just about everything, and I have givin up hope.
So this year, I am not putting up a tree or anything, my son will just have to understand.

Put your son's name on gift trees like those at Walmart. Pick him up something at a garage sale or the Goodwill store. If he needs new clothes wrap those up. All children should have something to unwrap at Christmas.
Put up the tree anyhow, even if you can't even afford to give him a candy bar for Christmas. It's not fair to him (I assume that's him in your avatar - he's way to little to have to understand) to suffer because of adult problems that he has no control over.
My FIL talks about some VERY tough times they had when he grew up in Eastern KY. They were the very definition of dirt poor. For Christmas sometimes his parents would trade an old no longer used toy with one of their cousins. Each kid got something new to them but it didn't cost anything. Other times he would get school supplies, a new (old) coat, or some toy boat his dad made out of a piece of scrap wood.

Not to mention they have things around here like toys for tots or other sites/places that give toys to children of parents who cannot afford it. Usually two per child. So even with the help from here you can still do that.
And yes put up a tree and decorations, If not for yourself, for you little guy.

I feel for you. With my medical bills & needing so many days off of work w/o pay makes me too broke to do Christmas this year.
I am just happy my sons are grown & understand.
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.
