    repo and bankrupt

I lost my car like in 96 and took bankrupt the bank has billed me forever after that, so some lawyer got hold of the note and they took me to court last year in 08, I went to court and had to go back the lawyers office sent me 2 letter telling me my court date, I went they didn't show, I told the judge it has been over 11 yrs and bankrupt I thought was suppose to end after 7. he dismissed it, so after that I get a letter from the lawyer office about how much I owe, and I called and told them it had been dismissed, this lawyer says we are going to reopen it but we haven't got a court date yet, I told her to go ahead anytime was fine with me since I was working and wasn't able to work. She said your not working, NO, so I hear no more from her and no court date I went to the courthouse and they didn't take anything out.
Now I get a letter from a credit company telling me I owe 5100. I called and told them this had been dropped, how can they do that, the guy told me to send a note in a letter to them or get the papers from the courthouse which I did and mailed, then i called back and told them I was senting it by fax, would they stop this they said they would sent it to the company that sent it to them, I told them well, they know it was dismissed,
what the sh-- I guess the company or bank will try to sent it to someone else to collect, will it ever end

Once a debt has been discharged in a bankruptcy, they can't collect anything from you. Just fax them a copy of the discharge letter & a letter from you telling them to cease & desist from contacting you regarding this debt in the future.
The banks like to sell bad debts (even those that have been discharged), for pennies on the dollar & these collection agencies, even after knowing that the debt is no longer valid will still try to collect $$ from people. They count on the public being too afraid of them going after their current assets, or just count on the general public's ignorance of the law to get a few dollars.

seems the first lawyer (the one you used forthe bankrupcy) didn't do his/her job. The bankrupcy papers should have been filed with the car company back in 96! I'd be pissed as well
