Yeah, I wasn't sure how this had anything to do with having a job eliminated unexpectedly, but I appreciate the sympathy.
Dunno if I want to delve too deep into the "whys" of this member's situation, sounds like a sticky mess.

I think she was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt; she is a nice lady like that.
ANYTHING dealing with goverment buracracy is a "sticky mess" ie: Coast Guard.
