Michael J. Fox to Guest Star on 'The Good Wife'
Due to his on-going battle with Parkinson's disease, Michael J. Fox doesn't appear on television too frequently. When he does decide to make a guest appearance somewhere it tends to not only be pretty big news but, in some cases, results in a ratings boost for the show.
This time around, the five-time Emmy winner is appearing on the drama 'The Good Wife.' According to the CBS press release, Fox will appear as lawyer Simon Canning, a cynical litigator who goes against Alicia Florrick -- played by 'Good Wife' Emmy-nominated star Julianna Margulies -- in a class action suit against a large pharmaceutical company. From the network press release, Fox's character will also be a victim of Parkinson's and use it to his advantage during the trial to encourage sympathy for the huge corporation.
The 49-year-old actor last appeared on series television in a multi-episode stint on the FX series 'Rescue Me,' which won him a 2009 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Three years earlier he guest-starred on 'Boston Legal.' For that role he was also nominated for an Outstanding Guest Actor Emmy but didn't win.
'The Good Wife,' which received 9 Emmy nominations of its own, begins its second season at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28th.
