Modern Family?
Anyone watch this on wednesday evenings?
The first episode 3 weeks ago was very funny but it seems like it has went downhill since then... But still a good new show.

The gay guys are really the only thing about that show I like... aside from them I find it to be absolutely horrible.

I didn't see last nights episode yet. DVR is holding it for me to watch.
I like it, but I love Ed O'neil.
I don't see it lasting. Nothing good on ABC ever does.

I agree the gay guys are a hoot. Does anyone else notice alot of shows are doing the talking into the camera thing now? I only saw it once because we watch SVU during that time. And IMO the other shows around that one are dumb.

Well, we've continued to watch it... and I have to say at this point, with the exception of Ed's stepson... we do enjoy the show. I also believe it got picked up for a whole season... so who knows. Actually, I think all the Wednesday sitcoms got ordered for the whole season except for Hank.

Iranian TV Remade 'Modern Family' Frame For Frame, Minus Gay Characters

Well, this certainly is disheartening.
Iranian TV has impressively remade American TV classic "Modern Family" essentially frame by frame -- except the frames containing the gay characters.
Called "Haft Sang" and produced by the "Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting," the stage direction, props, and sight gags are all the same. However, the gay characters, such as Mitch and Cam, have been erased from the show entirely.
Earlier this year, "Modern Family" delighted viewers when it ended its most recent season with a wedding between the show's two gay characters, Mitch and Cam.

The Iranian ‘Modern Family’ Isn’t So Modern

ABC’s “Modern Family” has received an Iranian makeover — and it’s not so modern. “Haft Sang,” which translates to “seven stones,” premiered last Sunday in Iran and depicts a similarly large and unconventional family, much like the U.S. version of the show. Frame by frame and shot by shot, the sitcom almost mirrors the U.S. version.
One aspect of “Modern Family” that got lost in translation? Gay couple Cam and Mitchell, who recently got married in season five of the U.S. show. Also AWOL is oldest Dunphy daughter Haley, who is now portrayed as a teenage boy named Amir.
A rep for “Modern Family” producer 20th Century Fox Television confirmed that the Iranian producers of “Haft Sang” have not obtained the rights to the U.S. comedy, but had no further comment.
This isn’t the first time the sitcom has been molded for international appeal; Greece and Chile are launching authorized remakes of the series overseas. In Greece the show will go by “Moderna Oikogeneia,” and in Chile it’s named “Familia Moderna.” Shooting for two seasons of Chile’s version of “Modern Family” wrapped last December. Similar to the version airing in Iran, the series’ gay couple Mitchell and Cameron, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, are not featured. In both Chile and Iran, same-sex marriage is illegal.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) produces “Haft Sang,” and according to Slate, the network airs various series that “are typically 30 episodes each, and include a mixture of both comedies and dramas, all of them having an ‘ethical theme’ of some sort.”
