Burning a home movie on DVD problem, can anyone help

I am trying to burn a home video onto DVD, I have been using window dvd maker and NTI DVD maker, both times the audio is out of sync with the movie. Can anyone suggest another free program to use that is simple for a beginner or how to fix this problem using the existing dvd programs I have
