Just as I thought -- 2:20pm came and went at my house -- not a sound to be heard. I guess I'm never going to know if a massive emergency happens in my area!

It went off at my job at 2:20. I didn't hear it from anyones cell phones, jsut the radios we have playing. (We're not allowed to have phones on the work floor anyhow, unless your a supervisor).

I read somewhere that even if your phone was turned all the way down, or off, you would still hear a signal. Just shows how much control the Govt has over your phone. LOL

No -- I knew I wasn't going to get the alert. I call my phone the "purse brick" -- it's only for emergencies. (LOL -- but I guess NOT for emergency alerts) And I have a smartphone because all the airlines and cruise lines are insisting lately that I register/check in online. I never use it, I don't really know HOW to use it, I don't WANT to know how to use it. I turn it on once a month, turn on wifi and let the updates happen as it charges. Then I turn it off and return it to my purse. This month the screen went black -- I swiped up, down, sideways, tapped the screen -- nothing. I finally turned it off and back on so I could turn off the wifi. My friends just laugh.

I've told more than one cruise line that I don't have a phone -- they tell me to borrow one or buy one. I reply -- maybe YOU'D like to buy me one and pay the monthly fee since you insist I have one. Somehow they manage to take my money and get me onboard -- imagine that.

I'm comfortable with my laptop, and I have 2 tablets. I don't need a cell phone. Except the cruise lines stopped making apps for tablets -- now it's just phones. My husband is worse -- he doesn't know the first thing about any of these things. He stopped in to get a covid shot the other day and was told he had to make an appt online. He had to come home so I could make the appt, then go back to the drug store.
