Sunflowers that is great news. Kjwent how did the surgery go? My sister had her uterus and ovaries removed almost 18 years ago, they didn't do any treatments afterward and she is still going strong today. Let us know when you get a chance.

Tomorrow I go to see what further treatment I will need for the breast cancer. The tumor was very small (stage 1) 1.5cm.
He's been saying 30% chance I will need chemo (plus radiation and "possibly pills") but I think he's just been preparing me. Covering himself when he announces I need chemo. We'll see. I plan to ask him what other viable options he can suggest. Don't ask -- don't get.

I had the robotic hysterectomy surgery on 12/1. I've got seven 1" incisions across my belly. Internal stiches, but glued closed, so nothing to remove. More "major" than he led me to believe according to various nurses in the hospital during pre-op. But so far, not too bad as far as recovery. I actually did 30 minutes of light gardening the other day. Cut down some plants that were done -- husband dragged them away. I'm supposed to keep moving, so I figured as long as I didn't strain myself I might as well accomplish something!

Uncomfortable sleeping because I can't be on my side. Haven't been able to get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time -- aside from uncomfortable on my back -- if you have to use the bathroom you aren't supposed to hold it -- and you're not supposed to force anything. So that gets me up multiple times. LOL -- they want me to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. I don't drink any water -- much less 6-8 glasses! My husband has been refilling a little juice glass next to me for a week hoping I'll get some down. So far, maybe one day I made 1 1/2 little bottles. Coffee, juice, soft drinks -- I'm sure those all count somehow!

Anyway. This too shall pass. The dr said the tumor was contained in the uterus, couldn't find any evidence that it had spread. This type of cancer isn't as invasive as others, so he figured this would be the case before the surgery. And he told me there would probably be no further treatment needed. I have a follow up with him on 12/14 after lab results are in, but I'm expecting this one to be done.

Thanks to everyone for keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. I have been very lucky so far. These things could have been so much worse.

    Kathy

Thanks for the update, kj - sounds like things are going in a good direction. Don't try to do too much too soon - you have to give your body time to heal. And you need to stay hydrated to help that, so behave and drink your water (or other non-caffeinated beverage, because caffeine is a diuretic, I believe). Your cells need the water to work better

I just got the best news. No chemo. My numbers were so low that he came in and said -- I have an early Christmas present for you. You don't need chemo. I never had to say a word!

They are referring me to radiation therapy and also to a medical oncologist for endocrine therapy (google says usually pills). In the past he said he thought I would just need 3 weeks of radiation -- so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Meeting with the other dr about the uterine cancer surgery next week.

Thanks to everyone for thoughts and prayers. I guess they worked.

Congratulations I am so happy for you!! Thanks for letting us know and hopefully you will get great news next week. Keeping you in my prayers. If you don't like water maybe you can add some flavor packets to it like True Lemon or one of the others. Or just slice a lemon or cucumber in the water.

I'm so glad that you got this good news today! Continued thoughts for you for good health.

I like Glaceau Vitamin Water. There are a lot of different flavors. It comes in 16 oz. bottles.
