Thread: BigBig Happy New Year!

Best wishes for a year ahead filled with joy, love, and success! How did you celebrate?

Bill and I had a quiet evening, lighting the kerosene lamps in the front room, and enjoying a few good nibbles (brie cheese and crackers, cashews, and mandarin oranges) and some good cheap bubbly. Our neighbor came out of his front door, banging a pot and yelling, "Happy New Year!" so I leaned out the front door and yelled, "Happy New Year" back at him I think he was surprised.

I remember banging on pots for New Year's when I was a kid. I looked it up recently, and it was said that the noise was to scare off the bad spirits. Here's hoping for a great year!
