    Tornados in Missouri

Last night was bad around here. The tornado and storms were bad enough but now we have flooding coming. We live on a big hill and the flooding wouldn't normally affect us but we wont be able to get out of here. That means work, etc... Pray for those in Jefferson City and Eldon!

Weather has been pretty wild this year - so much rain and flooding. I saw pictures of some areas in Texas that were not normal - and the dam failure near New Braunfels (south central Texas) was crazy. Last night here in Toledo there were straight line winds, and saw pictures of damage to buildings and signs in the area. It's a bigger impact to agriculture than most folks realize. Crazy...

    Glad you are ok!

Thankfully, only a few have been injured or died. (even a small amount is too many though). I read somewhere that there have been 120 tornados between Monday and Wednesday! That's insane!! There was one here in Pa as well. I believe it was near Lancaster.....an F1. Not huge, but still caused some damage.

After seeing some of the pics on tv, I can't even imagine worrying about going to work! Is your job still there? What about groceries? Do you have enough at home?

A friend of mine from work was on vacation there, while all that was happening. She was in a hotel when the tornado siren went off. Thankfully, the tornado ended up being a few mins north of her. She's been traveling around Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana. I don't think she'll do that again, this time of year. lol. I also have another friend who lives in "Tornado Alley", in Texas. (In a trailer, no less!!). I don't think there were any near her this time.

Hopefully that's all the tornados for this year, and people can rebuild. (or move!!).

Tornadoes have be crazy this week! A FB friend was in the hospital (patient) in Oklahoma, and he said he had to go into the hallway at least twice one night because of the warnings. I think the community of El Reno was hit in Oklahoma. And tonight I read that Dayton, OH was hit. In Toledo early this week there was some damage from strong straight-line winds. And the flooding in many areas has been awful. This has been a tough spring for weather incidents.

    From local tv station:

The National Weather Service says the Pennsylvania commonwealth has already recorded the average number of tornadoes for a year.Sixteen tornadoes have had preliminary confirmation in Pennsylvania. Some of those hit here in the Susquehanna Valley.
Just last Sunday night, a tornado touched down on Oak Ridge Court in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, and traveled 3/4 of a mile. Thirty-one homes were damaged along the way.
On Thursday, six tornado warnings were issued across the state in a span of just two hours, including one in Lancaster County.
That's another one for Lancaster county! I don't know wth is going on out there, but they seem to be getting hit a lot lately. Mom and I were just there this past Saturday for lunch/shopping. Glad we chose that day!

I'm in the northwest corner of Ohio in Toledo - not that close. A couple I know were coming back from a weekend trip and went by Dayton on their way home - said it was scary and dark. The husband went back today to volunteer to help. He said people were out doing stupid things - driving around, over, and through downed power lines! He said there was a lot of damage all over.

More tornado activity in Ohio - this time closer to me. Three neighboring counties had a tornado watch this afternoon, and two of the local stations covered the activity for over an hour as the system was moving through. One of the news stations reported a barn damaged by a tornado. This rainy system can't be good for the folks still recovering in the Dayton area.

Jefferson City in Missouri is trying to clean up after the tornado. But everything is flooding so badly it really makes it difficult.

I haven't paid attention to weather for past few days. I didn't know there was more tornado activity. Stay safe! Hopefully all of this will die down soon.

Crazy weather......When I went to work Tues and Wed mornings, it was 44* for cryin' out loud!
