Thinking.....
12.5 inches of snow, holy smokes, haven't seen that much in a while. Thinking about mom and how she would have loved it. Thinking about my sister driving from KY after her 1st grandchild's 1st birthday, thinking about how I'm going to get that mountain of snow off my car, glad I have plenty in the pantry, here is to all the folks who don't think you need more than 3 days worth of stuff to get your through the "interesting" times. Saw on the news where they cleaned off the shelves in several of the stores, if they kept a couple extra of everything, soup, chocolate, milk, chocolate, bread, chocolate, TP, chocolate see a theme here, everything is better with chocolate IMHO. A hot cup of tea, a soft fuzzy throw and my rocking chair looking out the window at the snow that has only been disturbed by the deer tracks, looking at the pine branches touching the ground from the weight. Glad I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Glad we haven't lost power, that is always a pain and we fully expected it, all it takes is for someone to hit a pole or something and we are all in the dark, ever wonder why more power lines are not buried, why in 2019 are we still using trees trunks to hold up power lines, they have trenching machines a one time thing, wouldn't have to worry about it anymore, but I digress. Leaning more to the positive, sitting here happy and warm, blessed, still in my PJ's, hubby watching football, he has a cold but drug himself out of bed, can't miss football. LOL Thinking about our neighbor who called to see if our snow thrower was broken and I said the other half is sick and he volunteered to come clear our very long drive off, sweet man, we have 2 of the best neighbors across the road, the great thing about country living, folks look after each other out here. We have a friend who has a plow on the front of his truck and he called and said he would be by to dig us out without even knowing hubby is sick. I'm determined to appreciate all the little things, not wish for the big things we don't need. Life is good out in the sticks. Hope all is well with all of you, what are you thinking about?

I was thinking about BigBig Forum family today. There are things I like about this group - we have several things in common. We like great deals, enjoy finding our freebies, work at our reward programs, and try to win contests. It was comfortable buying and selling because people here got to know each other and there were not too many bad experiences doing business with each other. There was a sense of mutual respect and support for the most part, and even if we disagreed about stuff, we could agree to disagree and not resort to name-calling nor tearing each other down (like it happens so often on FB). It's somehow more intimate that participating in most FB groups. We've cried with each other, and celebrated each other's victories. I'd enjoy seeing our 'community' come together and grow.

I loved buying and selling too, postage now makes some of that cost prohibitive, I always just wanted to break even, it was so much fun to get a little box in the mail or a coupon shared by a friend on the board. I do remember being there for each other, I wrote about when my dog died and was heart broken, we loved him so and everyone posted saying they were crying too, I didn't feel so alone. I posted when my mom passed and was surprised to see how many of the old timers responded. I want to see us grow too. It's not all about the freebies and good deals, although those are great, I'm just happy to see folks check in and let us know what is happening in their little corner of the world.

Thinking about how lucky we are. Our neighbor across the road saw we hadn't cleaned off our vehicles yet and called wondering if we had picked up our mail and we said no it could wait until tomorrow we are both to sick too be outside. That man got our mail and hung it on our flag holder right next to our garage door so I could go out to the garage, hit the door opener and reach around and get it. God Bless Sam. We are truly blessed. I've always said it's the little things.
