This last couple of years has been very hard, my husband was in a bad car accident and has been on disability for the last 2 years, even after a couple surgeries he hasn't really improved, can't work, walking extremely painful, it is shocking how one second can change your lives forever. My mother got very sick and I spent a lot of time with her, she passed near the end of summer and was surprised at how much had to be done. It's all the little things that keep us busy, I'm trying to do better, cutting my FB time to once a week or so, tired of all the President trashing. Doesn't matter if you like him or not the office should be respected, it represents us and how we respond also represents us as a whole. IMHO Not starting a Trump thing so please don't have a fit or something its just my reason for getting off FB, that and all those if you love me post this kind of stuff, it clogs the site and I have the same thing over and over. Looking for helpful ideas, great deals and no BS, if that is a possibility. It used to be.

I still go on FB, I just 30 suspend the people who constantly do political posts... on both sides. I mean, ok you like him or you don't but please don't shove it down my throat.

I like the posts on recipes, daily life etc.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. Like you said, one second can change everything. I hope he finds relief. I am very sorry for the loss of your mama, that too is difficult to deal with. ((HUGS))

Thank you for your kind words. I did that too. Lord have mercy, get a life already, people I knew from when I was a child have said the most surprising things, I had to unfriend a few. I do love the recipes, family pictures and what is going on in their lives. But had my fill when some agreed that the president's son should be thrown in with child molesters. WTH, I guess I didn't know them as well as I thought.
Mom was 91, didn't make it any easier, she was good with it, she missed her mom and knew she was waiting for her, didn't hear one word of complaint, the last words she said to me were to go home I look tired. I told her I would see her the next day early, but she never opened her eyes again and lasted for about 4 more days. I would have stayed if I knew, but you never do. I sat there and talked to her every day and was there when she passed, I told her it was OK, she did a good job and we would be fine over and over, I think she got tired of me talking, my other sisters had slipped out about an hour before, one to take a shower and change, one to drop off her son and one who had crashed on the couch in the hall, it was my turn to make sure she wasn't alone. They say they have shallow breathing at the end, she was taking nice easy breaths and was so peaceful, we didn't think she would go for a few more days, but she stopped and I just stood there, waiting, I wanted to shake her but just stared, I got my sister and we just stood there, my freshly showered sister came in and we all just stood there. Then one of my sisters went to the door and waived to a nurse who came in, I was told by the hospice nurse to open the window, a warm breeze blew in and moved her hair. Then we called the sister who dropped off her son. And that was it. I didn't know it was a hospice nurse thing to open the window when someone passed, apparently, it's common knowledge because everyone I told already knew that. I'd been with several people who died and no one had done that before, but they weren't in hospice either.

My husband is doing better than expected, we are thankful for that, we learned surgery isn't always the best choice but you don't know that until it's over, we had waited a year, should have continued to wait I guess. But like I said sometimes you don't know until it's too late. Life is a crap shoot, you make decisions based on what you know at the time and hope for the best.

I was an old timer here too! Miss princessarky (though we still talk) nightowl, kathy, and so many more. However my heart is so heavy now for the loss of dove32304. We had become such great friends through all the hard times. We laughed (and cried) together for years. She is now at rest with the young daughter she had lost years ago. May you and Tina rest in peace my friend. Love you always!

So sorry to read about the loss of a friend from here. My friend who directed me to this site passed in 2015 (I don't remember her user name here, because she didn't log in much and stopped doing freebies and reward/survey programs). I know some names when we tried to do a Facebook group many years ago, but that fizzled. I'm glad to see some folks coming back here. I remember your name

I do remember you too! It's been a long time and I would love to reconnect with all my BBF friends. Have you been able to get a FB group together? I'd love to join! Thanks!
