    How does your garden grow?

How is everyones garden growing? What all did everyone plant this year? I know I posted something last year about planning on where to put things next to each other, but last year we couldn't get the ground ready in time so we didn't get to put one in. We had a huge pool taken out and the ground needed a lot of work to get it ready for a garden. Had to have dirt hauled in too. This year I got it in, Put most in a little late but it is all doing real well. This is what I planted: Tomatos (three kinds), acorn squash, peas, beans, cucumbers, watermelon, pumpkins, corn, onions (three kinds), dill, yellow summer squash, and I put some birhouse gourds in. I think that is all. It is a lot of stuff.

Sounds like a winner, littlered1!! We have tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, beets, carrots, beans, acorn squash, watermelon, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage & potatoes. We also planted spinach and lettuce but they didn't do well this year so we didn't get to enjoy them.

My neighbor told me a couple weeks ago that Farmer's Market was open and I told her that I don't go much anymore and she asked why. Why would we BUY veggies when they're growing in our back yard? NOTHING like fresh veggies!

We got our garden in late also. Sounds like you 2 have pretty big gardens.

...keeps hubby busy and he loves it and we get to enjoy the fruits of his labors. I don't have much to do with the garden other than pick the veggies. Any time I decide to pull weeds I find he's already done it.

There are only 2 of us but plan to share with the neighbors and we don't plant a lot, just a variety.

If we have more than we can eat we give to friends and neighbors also. The tomatoes and green beans, if they come in like they did last year, I will use, give and freeze.
The squash we had so much of it I was almost begging people to take some. LOL

I didn't plant much this year only a few tomatoes, peppers, squash & herbs. I have already picked peppers & herbs. My tomatoes are growing nicely but my squash isn't.
Last year was horrible. I never got 1 single vegetable.

I love working in the garden, it is very calming. I have already ate a few tomatos out of it. Cherry tomatos, but they were still pretty good. Next year I am going to have a nice herb section in the end by the fence. (and a rototiller... I hope)
