    Hospital bill

I finally found out what our part is $934. They paid all of $29,410 but that amount. I guess unless the hospital wrote some off. I still haven't got a statement from medicare. I called the hospital and they said they sent us a bill yesterday so I guess they've been paid. I asked if thats the total amount we have to pay and she said yes, so I'm really glad.

And I haven't heard anything else about the woman using my name or being billed for her hospital stay. I hope thats been cleared up too. Hopefully it has.
So all in all I think everythings turned out ok. Thank God.

With my husband's surgeries in the last few years, our hospital has been very good about helping me set up pay schedule/amount. They took what I could afford and I am grateful that they did. I hope yours is as generous.

I think most hospitals will set up a payment schedule for you. I've only had one hospital say ok this is what your payment will be. They gave me a year to pay it off. Most of the other hospitals I've worked with ask what do you want to pay. Just remember make sure you pay on time, if you don't they may demand payment in full or send it to collections.
I was paying 2 different hospitals at the same time and sent the wrong amount to the one hospital, should have send 50 but sent 25 instead. I got a letter saying they were sending it to collections. I did get it straightened out and it didn't go to collections.
So just make sure you pay on time and if you can't contact the hospital and let them know.

If you haven't already, check with the hospital social service person or someone in billing. You may be able to get the amount you owe reduced. I know a lot of hospitals have a fund that will kick in for people on some income levels.
