Yes that is normal, they should have given you a written sheet of instructions and what to expect. Did they give you pain pills? Take one even if you aren't having pain. It will relax you and calm you a little. And it will keep the pain from starting and getting too bad. Also , did they say to put ice on it? I would have though they would have told you to do that to keep the swelling down. Don't keep taking the cotton in and out. Let another clot form if it is trying to. Remove the cotton /gauze only when they told you to. Good luck.

Sometimes I think dentists and doctors don't give you enough instructions when you leave. When my husbands blood preesure went really low they didn't even tell him to stop taking his high blood pressure medicine when he went home. He did it himself because it kept getting low when he took it. After he quit it stablelized and hasn't been low since. He only takes it now if its high which most times its in the 120's so he doesn't take it.

Instrucions are not clear, they say to use the gauze if it oozes but not to overuse the gause. I am sorry if I come off as stupid I have such a terrible fear of something, going wrong I am just in tears. Have the ppl say leave it alone, half say to use the gauze. I have been bleeding 4 about three housr now just a ooze

Ok, I got out of the loop. So you made an appointment with a dentist and he pulled your tooth? Did he say not to use a straw? That will pull the blood clot out. I think you need to put the gauze back on to keep it from bleeding. The tooth needs to clot and heal.

When my mother got her tooth pulled that is what we did. Kept the gauze on until she stopped bleeding. Are you taking any meds or suppliments that would thin your blood and make you bleed more? I would think they would ask you if you took anything like that.

If the bleeding is stopping you are doing something right. Good thing you are going to talk to your surgeon just to be safe. I hope you know by now what to do. Hugs.
