want to be remembered!
Why do you suppose we want to be remembered so bad? Or at least I do.
I wish I had done something to make me remembered always, by everyone, like being a great song writer, or book writer or painter. Is it just a need to make our mark? I don't know but I know it is very important to me to live long enough for my grandchildren to remember me. Our then 10 yr old daughter remembers her grandfather well , but the then 7 yr old doesn't remember him so much.

It is sad to think that we are "forgotten" a few generations down the line. I think we all strive for that element of having mattered in a lasting way. But for so many of us, our great-great grandchildren will mostly know us by name and maybe, if we are lucky, a few memorable stories.
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

My children and I were talking about this just a few days ago. There are people in my family who have passed on- and other than a few photos, there isn't much to pass on to keep their memory alive. I don't have a single photo of one of my grandfathers, except for a copy of one of him in his casket. I think that's pretty sad.
I decided a long time ago that my children and grandchildren will have something to remember me by, and it's not going to be a photo of me in a casket.
As badly as I hate having my photo taken, I have given in to letting my children take all the photos they want to take of me. I don't have to look at the photos if I don't want to. I just don't want my kids to look back years from now and wish they had photos of their mom-- and only have memories of how much I hated to have photos taken.

I feel like burning all my photos before I die. Have you seen those greeting cards with home photos of people on them? How would you like to be on a greeting card with a crazy message inside?
I have no children and my aunts who had no children have tons of photos. I have them since my mother got them after they died. I don't know what to do with them. Guess I will pass them around to family. I hate to burn them but I may need to do it.
Any ideas?
