Lot's of gals also used beer or soda cans with both ends cut out as rollers for that sleek, smooth look with only the ends flipped under a bit!

LMAO!! which was just some kind of larvae in a bean that would move around and make you think it was "jumping"!
I remember Murphy's and also McCrory's and Kresge's (the forerunner of K-Mart). They all had soda fountains. There were several Mom&Pop stores in my hometown that had soda fountains. I remember getting a cherry coke and that's when they made them with soda water and coke and cherry syrups. We used to get CMP's for 25 cents and oh...the penny candy!! Also Clove, Black Jack and Teaberry gum made by Clarks! You can find the gums and lots of the old penny candy today if you search for it!!

I used those too. I had really long hair. It's funny talking about the bonnett hair dryers. That was the only kind of hair dryer I could get my head into when I had the cans in. Boy I really don't miss that!

Imagine how many signs would be required now if each race had their own sign!

our saturday mornings have really changed since i was a kid. when i was young, no violence, rudeness, bad language, etc....
i think kids from today should have MANDATORY watching of "leave it to beaver" and "the andy griffith show"
I bought the dvd's of Leave it to Beaver and my grandkids looked 3 minutes and didn't like it. I agree, they taught a lot, including Wally and his behavior.

Yes, now they have my favorite penny candies for the low price of $6.99 per lb. LOL

a rotary telephone, I could kick myself for throwing mine out some years ago, would love to have one, just to have one LOL. And it amazes me on how some of the answering messages still are, like when I call the kids doctor, one of the choices is, if you have a rotary phone, please stay on the line and someone will assist you soon... LOL

Candy cigarettes, actually cigarettes anywhere here since they were banned in public places.
Remember shoe stores where you could put your feet into that machine and see the bone?. X-ray machines, OMG. My mother said we couldn't do it since she heard it was dangerous and that turned out to be true.
I'm going to look for rotary phones at a garage sale so they will take my call faster.

I would love to have a phone that you need to stay in one place-I'm so tired of losing the cordless ones--
i am nothing special;of this i am sure. i am a common man with common thoughts; and i have led a common life. there are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but i've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has slways been enough--nicholas sparks

My mom had one. Hers had a little door on the base that slid open. It was about an inch wide, and opened about half an inch. It was there to stick your fingertips in, so that while you were waiting for your hair to dry, you could paint your nails and dry them too.
