Tighten up...................your lips. I'm a recovering alcoholic too, and I still see nothing humorous about it. I have a right to state my beliefs, last I checked.

Yes, you do have a right to state your beliefs. You must deal with the problem in a different way than Barb does and that's okay too. Barb has always dealt with her problem with humor, and that is okay too. Whatever works for a person is okay.

But I do have to ask. Given the title of the post is AA Jokes, why did you click on it if you were going to be offended by it? If I knew that I was going to be offended by a post on this or any other message board, I would avoid clicking on it.

Barb is going through a very stressful time right now. Her husband has been sick and she is facing surgery herself this coming Tuesday. I suspect that I will be treated to a lot of her jokes in the coming days and weeks ahead.

I applaude you, as I do Barb for the hard work that both of you have done to overcome a problem that a lot of people never overcome. You are both very strong women.

That isn't nice of you telling someone to shut up and in the next breath go on about your right to your opinion. Isn't that the same as saying only your opinion is right?

One thing I have noticed, in myself and others, is that people tend to joke about stuff that scares them. The humor gives them power over their fears. I have a healthy fear of drinking again, so I crack jokes
