    party ideas help....

If you were throwing a surprise party for someone turning 60, what would your theme be?

We are thinking about doing a 60's theme, since that was a fun time in her life (teen years). How would you decorate for a sixties theme? I was looking on the party sites but don't find any listing for sixties decor.

    Open to other ideas too.

this person also has beat cancer....and their birth month this year is a major milestone with that.

    TIA

You can buy an album of 60's music for about $15. You might have some of the younger people dress like the 60's with penney loafers or saddle oxfords, straight skirts and sweater sets. Girls can wear large class rings with wax under the band to make it fit.
That signified "going steady". Get her high school class annual or all 4 yrs. Do it up in her highschool colors. Have a few people wear the large bouiffont hairdoes. Have fun.

I found a few of these suggestions that I thought were kinda neat:

How about a DJ and 60's music, that's a lot of fun. Also invite your guests to dress 60's style. Have a guest book with a column for "comments" and plenty of disposable camera's around for pics. You could even hire an "Elvis".

My sister an I are throwing my mom a "sexy sixty" party. We're playing "pin the perkies" instead of pin the tail.

Karaoke. Goofy sounding, maybe, but if you include some of the "golden oldies" that people can sing to and laugh about, it will be fun for everyone, old and young. Especially if you sing tributes to the guest of honor!

Have a hula hoop or American Bandstand dance contest.

Don't forget hippies carrying signs, someone with flowers in their hair, knee high boots and mini skirts. Oh and huge bell bottom, hip hugging pants.

Asked my Mom for some great things about the 60's. One thing that really stuck out in her mind was Cherry Coke. She said they had chocolate and vanilla coke too, but it was a treat going to get a fountain cherry coke made with real cherry syrup.

Oh yeah and LOTS Drugs lol.
