    Me and my a/c

The last few days I have turned my central a/c on. You could hear it kick on, but no air coming out at all. I have been on hubbys case about getting someone to take a look at it. Well, he has been working with a guy who is a central heat/air . Hubby asked him if he did side jobs, and the guy told hubby to check a few things and let him know. So ... last night we go out to the unit and found the problem. My 2 dogs CHEWED thru the wires that connects the a/c to the house!!!!! I am surprised the dumbbutts didnt get electrocuted. So we find some more wire, and my poor sweet DH was outside til midnight with flashlights trying to splice it and get it working. He is no dummy ( he is a carpenter, NOT a electrician as he likes to remind me) but I have seen him splice several things. Took him a few times ( while fighting off doggy kisses and a dog literally chewing on the doghouse). Finally had 2 of the kids take the dogs on a walk to get them out of the way. And finally finally after 3 hours and 2 days of sweating our butts off we had success!!! IT was 85 degrees in our house last night when we got it going. This morning the kids woke up and said mom its cold. I was like good. Heat and me mixed together is not a pretty sight at all. I get very cranky. So yayyyyy hubby. thank you thank you . and bad bad doggies.

Sometimes it is squirrels or chipmonks. It happened to us when we had no dog.

My dog chewed thru the wires to the ac once too. The guy who came out to fix it said she shouldnt be alive because she surely received a shock! But no, she was fine....although she never ate thru an electrical cord again!

    Glad you are cool now!

Me too. With cold you can put more clothes on , blankets, but there is nothing you can do when you are hot.

I am pretty sure its the dogs. They have chewed up a blanket, every dog dish, water hose, and they chewed up the carpet we NAILED down in their dog house. I could rent them out as grave diggers, I have at least 4 holes in my yard at least 4 ft deep. And now they are chewing their dog house . They better not touch my a/c again, cuz if anything goes, it will be them and NOT my a/c

Oh my, we must have been separated at birth. I say the same things.

My dog is only 10 1/2 pounds (as of this morning) but I swear she can eat her weight in inanimate objects. She is anorexic about food but give her an empty bowl or a boot and she is all set. Her favorite is glasses, she loves to chew the nose pads off of them. They putting on a pair of those without noticing it - OUCH!

Oh yeah, she likes dimes too. She's a weird dog.

We finally go screen kits and hubby built screens for all our windows last weekend because I refuse to turn the air on it April this year! I enjoy my electric bill being under $100 and hopefully we can hold out until June. Probably not, but I can always hope. Congrats to hubby for getting it fixed for you!

Glad your DH could fix the A/C. It is not that uncommon of an occurrence, however are you sure it was the dogs? The A/C guy I work for sees most of the wires from the condenser get chopped up by weed whackers.
