Who has netflix?
I was wondering...
A friend of mine has this and is on the plan where she can have like 2 movies out at a time. We mailed in a movie last week and it usually gets back to them the very next day. Well so far this time, they haven't received it back. Now this friend is saying that she is going to have to pay late fee's and pay for the movie that is lost and that they are going to suspend her membership.
I just went to their website and noticed that it says they don't charge late fees, so that is one thing she told me that wasn't true.
My question is why would they suspend her membership if she paid for the movie that was lost? It seems that they would understand that sometimes things get lost.

There aren't fees nor will she be charged for the lost movie. I would recommend she report the dvd as lost in the mail once the allotted wait time has expired. I have had to report a few as lost in the mail. I did receive emails later that a few of the lost dvds were eventually located and returned to a Netflix shipping center. The only way an individual would be charged for a dvd is if he/she reports to Neftlix that he/she damaged or lost it.

I had 2 of mine lost and they just marked them as lost. I didn't pay a fee and my membership was not ended.

There isn't any late fee's and you can keep the movie as long as you want. For being lost in the mail they do keep track of how many get "lost in the mail" and if there are alot of lost movies, I think that's when they charge.

I had to report a lost dvd once, they found it a few days after I reported it but they did not charge a fee and they sent out a new movie the day I reported it lost.

I just called her and told her what I had read here, and she said that they were charging her and taking her membership away. And she swears it is the first time it ever happened.
I believe what ya'll say though.
She is one of those ppl that if it can happen to 1 out of 25,000 people it will happen to her, or she will say it did anyway.
She had ordered twilight and when she got through she loaned it to me. I took it to the post office myself and put it in the box. They should have it, she says they don't and that I am responsible for paying for it since it was in my possession last. At this point I am waiting to see if maybe the mail is running a few days late or something before I just hand her money.

I have never paid any thing for a lost movie. I would ask for the email where they are saying she has to pay for it.

Same as everyone else, never a late fee and only one movie so far didnt make it back in under 2 days. I'm not sure whats going on with your friend but like everyone else I've never been charged anything other than my monthly fee.

We used netflix a coupe years ago, We had 2 DVDs that got lost and they never charged us nor took our membership either.
I would ask for proof before you give her money.
