Need Info
I need some information on Indiana.
Specifically the Indianapolis area..... anything within 30 miles of the city itself.
I need to know about the school systems, cost of living, were you would live up there: in the city or a suburb.
I will be moving up there in about 14 months, and want to be prepared.
Any thing any of you could offer, would be a great help.
I have lived in the same city all my life. Even the same area of the city.
So this 1350 mile move is not just a big move: it is a BIG MOVE
Thank you

Avon is a beautiful area and excellent school system. My aunt and older cousin live there so we go there pretty often.

If you contact their Chamber of Commerence they can send you information and maps of the area.

Thank you all.
I am a bit anxious, a bit fearful, and excited... big leap for us.
And with just 14 months, I want to know everything I can.
I want to go up there a few months before, and look in a specific area for a home: rental at first. But I want an idea of where I want to be before I do that; good schools, close to what I need: grocercies, etc.
Thank you

I lived in Indiana many years ago in Indianapolis. My sister has lived there along time. She lives out in Fairland In. At least that is her mailing address.
I can't remember if that is the same town she lives in though. Anyway she lives out of the city but the interstate is close to them. Kind of like a rural area.
If you are going to be in the city, Northside is more of the upper class, rich. Like the Carmel area. Southside is a good area. I lived in the Southport area.
Eastside area not a good area I did live eastside for about a year before I moved southside. According to my sister it has gotten worse over the years.
Westside I have really never heard to much about so I'm not sure what kind of area that is.
My sisters kids went to Triton Schools when they were in school. Her granddaughter and grandson also go there. The parents were tired of living in the city and moved out around where my sister is.
Hope that helps out some.

Thank you all.
Bigger and Better things await in Indianapolis.
I am starting this search early, because as the time gets closer.... I am going to be a basket case getting ready. I hate to leave my city, but somethings just need to happen.

I'm in IN. Never lived in the Indy area, but know Carmel is an affluent suburb. I've heard positive things about Greenwood (southside), Noblesville (northside), Zionsville (northside). I'm about 1.5 hours north of Indy, but love spending the day down there, shopping, seeing the zoo and the Childrens Museum.
