Haircolor question (red/blonde)
My hair is a dark auburn color and I'm wanting to lighten it alot. If I use a blonde haircolor will that lighten the red or will it turn an orange color? It doesn't really bother me but just wondering before the final results, lol. Thanks!!!

My hair is black and I used L'Oreal Super Blonde and it was a reddish blonde after I left it in for about 2 and 1/2 hours! So I went to a beauty supply store and they gave me what I needed to get the red tint out. You need to get something with a violet tint in it.

it depends on the level of the developer. I would recommend going to a beauty supply store and getting a bottle of color, and at least a 40 volume developer. Instead of using over the counter hair color in a box.
I ain't from the south... but I got here as fast as I could!

Thanks! There is a Sally's Beauty Supply nearby so I'll head over there now. Like I said I'm not too worried about it. But, since I'm going to the trouble to do it I might as well try to get close to the color I want, lol.

My sister's hair is naturally strawberry-blonde and she dyed it black! It looks awesome but I'm not brave enough to go that dark, lol. I love it when people go extreme w/ their hair color.

This is what the guy at the beauty supply store picked out for me and it took the red out really well......
3 packets of Clairol Lightening Activator,
a bottle of Clairol creme hair lightener,
a bottle of 40 volume creme developer
2 sm tubes of violet 'red/gold' corrector,
a packet of ColorCare color sealant/conditioner
a packet of moisturizing protein after color reconstructor.
I have VERY thick hair and was going from black to blonde. Also, I was removing my natural black AND black color, from touching up the gray in my roots etc. I had to leave it on for about 2 hours.
Mine is still black on top, but the underneath, longest layer is blonde.

i just went from black to blonde... i used 2 boxes of herbal essences hair bleach.... it took two dyes ... byt i did the underneath black and the bangs balck after we were done

You can get the product called "OOPS" if you don't like the way it turns out. Suppose to correct the color goof.
I have seen coupons for it online.

I dyed my hair black from blonde a 3 years ago....although I love the black I am tired of it and want it blonde again....I tried something and it turned out horrible and I had to dye it black again,lol....so any help would be great, I dont want to let the black grow out, and I dont have the money for a salon visit (school takes all that,lol)..

it was dyed black for 6 months before i got bored and wanted to do this
the under layer is black also....... in 3 weeks i will do another blonde and my roots
