    vacation question

With the checks they are sending out in may I am hoping to go on vacation. Dh and I have been married 10 years, we have 3 kids and we have never been on vacation. Didn't even have a honeymoon.

Anyway I really want to take kids and dh to Disney World. I have been, used to live an hour away when I was a kid, went every summer. I also went when I was 18 with a couple of friends. Well dh has never been. I think it would be great to get away and do something everyone will enjoy.

Anyway my question is this, About how much should I plan for to spend for food and such inside the park? Last time I went was 12 years ago and not that I can remember prices but I am sure they are more then it was back then.

I know universal studios would be cheaper but you wont get the Disney experience.

If anyone can add any more tips that would be great....now I just have to keep working on dh to get him to agree this will be an awesome thing.

look at www.disneyworld.com/affordable and the have several package deals that can include food if you want. We looked at that option and seemed like it was worth it to us.

I went about 6 years ago and it was very expensive in the park. I remember bottled water being $2.50 and to eat was outragous. This may seem very cheap but maybe you can bring a cooler and put drinks and other things in there to eat and just go to the car to have lunch and drinks or maybe you can get one of those rolling coolers and pack it full. I am not sure what they let in the park now though I would call disney world and ask them first. Good luck I hope your family has a great time!

Yeah, you'd have to leave the coolers in your car. They definitely do not allow coolers inside the park. I've been a total of 9 times but the last time was in 1996 (and it was very expensive then, lol). Mickey icecream ears on a stick (a must eat!!!) was $3 to $5. But you'll have the time of your life!! I'm wanting to take my children and my husband, they've never been. And the park changes and adds new things yearly so it'll be new for me too!

My family goes through a lot of water/juice when there. We would freeze quite a few (usually more than we would need) DH & I would have on backpacks and put the drinks into small, insultated lunch bags. We would put about 3-4 frozen with 1-2 cold, un-frozen drinks.
We would also carry small snacks like fruits, crackers & cookies. This would reduce the amount of food we would need to purchase.
If you get your hand stamped, you can also leave the park & get something to eat outside that is less expensive.
    Have a great vacation!

thank you for the sites, I will go through them when I get a chance. Looks like some great info on them.

mosdata1- Thank you for the suggestions, I really like the idea of freezing drinks and taking them with you. I would really like to go in June or July, With it being so hot that will come in handy.

We did Disney World in 02 and wished we'd done Univeral Studios instead. Our kids were 9, 7, and 3 at the time. I remember paying $12 for 4 popsicles then. lol If our oldest had been a bit younger at the time I'm sure they would have enjoyed it more. Check out everything you can find on the web about it.
