Question How many of you have home schooled your children?

Just curious. I find that amazing that some mom's do that.

Feel free to tell us about your experience as well if you want to. (Likes, dislikes, etc. about it. )

I home schooled my DD for 2 yrs; 4 to 6 yr old. I really liked it, but when I got sick, I decided to send her to a charter school.

I would love to be able to home school my daughter. If we get stationed in Guam I already told DH that I'm not working and I'm homeschooling our daughter.

not I said the fly. LOL I know a lot of people that do but honestly God would have to change a lot about me and my kids first. My oldest thinks he wants me to b/c a friend of his is, but honestly I can't help him w/ his home work some times w/o him telling me I am wrong if I try to correct him I can't imagine teaching him. Plus he takes teaching better from other people. Example. DH coaches his soccer team last year. He could suggest a techniques and son would act like we are calling him stupid (something we would never do) but have a different coach say the same thing the same way and he would take the idea and run w/ it.
throw in the 5 1/2 yr old and the 3 3/4 yr old who is always into something and we would never get work done here.

My cousin is going to next year and that is a big change for her.
Moms of boys work from son up to son down and then they go on line to escape

I know what you mean. I couldn't even imagine trying to do something like that. It would have been a constant battle around here. That's why I'm amazed that some moms do this and actually succeed in it as well.

we have homeschooled since 9/11/01 (what a day to remember)... we love it.

We use Ecclectic homeschooling (combination of unschooling and curriculum schooling).

DD is 16 now, and she is part time college and part time high school (but most of her "subjects" are that of 12th grade...instead of the 10th and 11th grade.)

If you have questions, just ask -- I am willing to answer them I run 3 local homeschooling groups, and 2 internet homeschooling groups.

My son is grown now. I just find the subject interesting. I've never really heard anyone discuss it before. So I thought I would pick bbs peeps brains on the subject. Some of the others might have questions for you though.
