I have stopped taking my med..I am going to dr tomarrow but was wondering if this has happened to you..I got up this morning and it was 111 okay that is normal I didnt take med this morning..ate breakfast and took sugar two hours later and it was 78...it went down..now I do eat healthy right down to making my own ground turkey sausage. I use treadmill about thirty minutes a day. what is going on here? My sugar used to be sky high...

I'm really not sure- my hubby is diabetic (for about 5 years now) - and the one doctor he was going to (when he first got diabetes) put him on this one medication that wasn't doing anything - so after about a year - he changed doctors and when we told the new doctor what he was taking for the diabetes the doctor told him that he needed to take another pill on top of what he was taking because the one pill wasn't doing what it should (I don't know the names of his meds - sorry) -
but ever since then - he has been really good with his sugar levels.

    good luck!

If you have lost weight since you were diagnosed, the dr may need to change your meds. Be sure and take your daily blood check records so your dr can see what is happening. I lost weight after I found out that I had diabetes, and have had my meds changed twice. Excersise and good diet help so much.

It is a constant battle for me, If you are exercising, lost weight etc, you might not need as much medication. Getting low is as dangerous is to high. Someone told me when you get low, brain cells die.

that is strange its going too low even after you eat...i have never had that problem since i was diagnosed about 10 yrs ago, i am always too high if anything and i am on 3 different meds..the only times mine ever went too low was when i was sick with the flu and when i took my meds but didnt eat anything and did some strenuous work.. since your being more active that could have a dramatic affect on your BS so see what your doctor says tomorrow and keep checking your sugar levels and if it gets too low, drink orange juice to bring it up.

instead of eating try drinking the juice it will bring up your BS faster and also there are glucose tablets you can buy at the store that will bring your BS up too..maybe you could try those..but the juice i think will work better than eating something... thats what I always did when in the rare instance mine went too low. I dont really have a lot of experience with it going too low..so maybe call your doctors and ask them what would be best?

You are exercising..the more you exercise, the more you lower your blood sugar. It looks like a change in meds is needed OR your doc may take you off med completely!!.

Ever since I joined the gym and workout 4-5 days a week, I find my blood sugar going down to 56-78 range. That's too low for me because I start to feel weak and shaky. I go to the doc on the 15th to see if a reduction in my meds are needed.

Congrats on reducing your blood sugar!! Once you throw exercise into your lifestyle, it amazing how easy it is to control diabetes

I totally agree, you are eating better and are more active this WILL make a difference in your levels. Good for you for taking better care of yourself. I am glad you go to the doc tomorrow, I am sure he will reduce your meds and if you keep up the good work its possible to eventually get completely off it. You go girl.

I took myself off my med a week ago cause of blood sugar going to low..and I am having a hard time keeping it with in the good range of 80-120 ...I think I will buy some orange juice tomarrow and I already take the glucose tablets. I am trying to lose weight so I dont want to eat all the time to keep blood sugar up..it is just really scarey
