    Homemade pore cleansing strip recipe

I don't know if anyone has shared this before, but I found this recipe while searching for the NADS homemade "wax" recipe. I thought it was pretty cool, since I love the pore strips.

1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin (you can get this in the baking aisle in the supermarket)
    1-1/2 tablespoon milk

Mix the ingredients together and microwave for 10 seconds to slightly warm them. Using a clean cosmetic brush (or a hair removal spatula), apply the mixture to the nose and chin area. Avoid the delicate eye area. Rinse the brush or spatula immediately. Allow the mixture to dry on your face for 10-15 minutes. It will dry fairly hard and form a “stiff film.” Peel off the film and stare at all the little porcupine quills that used to be in your nose pores.

Thumbs up Re: Homemade pore cleansing strip recipe

Thanks so much for this. I keep buying products and nothing seems to work that good. Maybe this will work better.

I always thought elmers school glue would work. Never tried it though. I loved putting it on my hands and peeling it off when I was a kid. It took off dirt and stuff that you didnt even know was there. Probably wouldn't hurt as bad as those biore' strips. ( I even put super glue on my fingers kinda thick and peeled it off before). It look a lot longer, but it kept me busy. LOL

If you like homemade skincare some of these are fantastic

DIY Skin Care Recipes Index (linked w/discussion thread)

My absolute can't live without is ACV toner I just use 2/3 strong green tea and 1/3 (organic) apple cider vinegar but there are several variations on here. Some of the recipes call for active ingredients but many can be made with things you have already

Do you know what really works??

You won't believe this, but a friend told me about it, but DUCT Tape!! It really works..just don't leave it on to long or the adhesive will stick to your skin...it is amazing and how inexpensive. I don't tell anyone that is what I am using...you all are the first!

Also I want to say a hello...I am new. You have a great board!

You're kidding me? Duct tape? Now I wondered if it would work for doing bikini "waxes", but had never thought about using it for a pore strip.

I like that idea, if it works. hippiechic, how'd it work for you? I just know I'm gonna be trying this tonight. ~laughing

lol It doesn't hurt at all...if you leave it on a long time..then I think it would be hard pulling it off. No, I am not joking...it really works! But don't put it anywhere else but your nose.
