Re: My dog MAY have heartworms??

I see now why my vet "preaches" HeartGuard for my three dogs regularly. He yells at me if I might let a few weeks lapse in between. Not to mention, I have to get their bloodtest at least once a year. My neighbors dog suffered with heartworms and I never want to see one of my babies go through that.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree. I would be moving heaven and earth to find a vet with good equipment, to find the true problems. I hope the dog is okay.

Well, I guess the vets in your town are psychic!

Do you not understand that when they take blood, they have to have that sent to a lab to get a proper dianosis?

When you go to the dr. does he just touch you and know whats wrong? .. No he takes labs so he can make a proper diagnosis.

Did you even read the posts? Jesus, people are so evil! Unbelieveable! I sure don't "hope" that you ever have to deal with what my DH & I have had to deal with. But since you have a psychic vet , I GUESS YOU'LL KNOW WHATS TRUELY WRONG THAT F-in' INSTANT!

I am so sorry that you had to have her put to sleep. She was a pretty dog. I think it is horrible that someone would be so mean to you when you are grieving over the loss of your dog. Shame on them. You did all that you could.

ITA, just because she isn't gushing about her emotions like allot of us do (me included) doesn't mean she doesn't have a heart and feelings. Allot of people just bottle up and hide that side of themselves from others. Maybe she is that way. How do you know she hasn't just been bawling her eyes out and grief stricking (sp?) over this? Just because she hasn't said allot about her emotions over this doesn't mean she isn't just as upset as most of us would be. She was at least trying to do something for her dog, so that shows she did care. Don't go assuming anything, because you just might be wrong. All I know is how I would be feeling right now if I was in her shoes and it would be tearing my heart out. Why do some of you want to say such mean things to her right now? Does that make you feel good to do that?

Just look at that photo of Bella....how could you not be just torn to pieces knowing you wouldn't ever get to see those big puppy dog eyes again? And here some of you are saying such nasty things. Just look at that photo and think how awful it must have been for dv8grl to look into those eye for the final time this morning and here some of you are saying such mean things to her when you should at least just give her a hug.

I agree, and I'm very sorry she lost this precious animal. I just think more could have been done, sooner.

I know you are grieving, but take heart in the fact that you gave her mercy and an end to suffering when she needed you most. We so often hold their precious lives in our hands and it is so hard to give them freedom from pain when we know how much pain it will leave with us. You did the brave and right thing. Like another poster I held on to my first dog for a few days too long. I'll never forget the pain in those trustiong eyes. I pray for the strength to never be that selfish again. My prayers are with you and yours.

Thank you guys again, so very much! I woke up so sad this morning, then having to look outside, and stare @ where I buried her. The house seems so empty without her! I didn't cry as much today as I did yesterday. I cry because I am self-fish and I miss her. I know we did the right thing, It made me sick to see her in pain, thankfully, it was only for 5 days.
