need feedback about work at home program

My niece wants to try this work at home program.it is called HBG publications. does anyone know anything about this place. She says she has to send them $40.00 to get started with this program, I asked her to let me post on the board and see if I can find out if this place is legit or a scam. I thinking scam because of the money she is supposed to send them, she is only 18 an naive. The girl cannot afford to lose the money and I dont want to see her scammed. If anyone knows anything abou this company please post. Also if anyone knows any legitimate work at home programs please post so I can send her in the right direction. thanks jackie

Tell her to never never never pay for a job. They should be paying you, not vice versa. (There are a few exceptions, but, in this case, tell er to save her money).

exactly.. you should never pay to get a job! work at home jobs are hard to come by, but they are out there!

I worked for a mail services company, when we did piece work (stuffing envelopes) we got any where from 3 cents an envelope to 25 cents per envelope depending on how many inserts went into the envelope. Most companies now hire mail services that have inserting machines and do not need to have "people" stuff envelopes. There is NO way any company will ever pay $7.00 to stuff an envelope. When we got 25 cents the envelope had 15 inserts of all different sizes...

I just wanted to thank all that replied I knew it was a scam but being 18 she didnt believe me but this will show her I was telling her the truth and save her $40.00. jackie
