Thread: I need some suggestion to help the kids affected by Katrina

I often find myself watch the news instead of movies these days.
I am sadden by the faces of the all the kids affected by the hurricane.
I feel like I need to do something. They lost everything, especially their favorite doll or stuffed animal. If maybe they had a teddy bear to hold, it might make them feel just a tiny bit better to have something to sleep with at night.

How can I go about getting them for the kids? I don't have any money or I'll be out buying them now. I want to gather up stuffed animals or dolls and then ship them to all the kids if possible. I know they're sending the kids to Houston so I would probably take them to the Louisville Chapter of the Red Cross but how do I ask people to donate them?

Any suggestions would great. I'm not good about stuff like this but I have this ache in my heart and the burning desire to do something.

I plan on taking my stuff to feed the children because most of what I will be donating is for babies and children. They have made a drop off site not too far from me.
