irony
I know there are some of these posted..I've read them before, but here's mine!
Once you open up this tent. You find the directions packedged inside. They read...
Step one: Verify that all parts have been packaged and are undamaged, before you leave for your trip.

Re: irony
You don't see the irony in telling people AFTER they've opened a package to "verify contents"?
???

I think the directions pertain to making sure when you've first opened the package, all parts are there and in working order before repacking for your trip. It would suck to reach your campsite and find missing or broken parts.

IRONY:
noun: incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs (Example: "The irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated")
noun: a trope that involves incongruity between what is expected and what occurs
noun: witty language used to convey insults or scorn (Example: "Irony is wasted on the stupid")
No...I don't see the irony at all. When else could you verify the contents until after you opened the package? I don't have X-Ray vision and can't see through a box.
Since most tents have several parts to them, it's important to make sure that all the parts are there!. Nothing could be worse than to go camping somewhere and be unable to set up the tent because you were missing parts.

Re: irony
Well, some people wouldn't think to do that. I found it ironical. And, I don't need a dictionary defenition of the term, thanks though ~I find that a tad rude
I don't know why you felt the need to do that.
I am very sorry I came in here to read your replies, Kelsey.

Re: irony
Actually...I was coming back to edit my reply because in hindsight I realized that I might have sounded rude...which was not my intent.
I thought I was missing something in your post...so I looked up the word because I thought that there might be some definition of the word I didn't know.
You are right though...I was rude to post that and I apologize.
I still don't get why you thought the instructions were ironic...or even silly...stupid...or whatever. They made perfect sense to me.
But, whatever...I am sorry I was rude to you.

Re: irony
I think she is talking about the instructions being on the inside of the tent, out of sight. Then when you get to your campground it says to be sure to check the tent before you go on your caming trip. Duh. Ok, I would have IF I HAD SEEN THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFOREHAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of people do not think to do this. I know I wouldn't. LOL Thanks Flute. About as funny as the dryer that says do not use while sleeping instead of sleepy. LOL

OHHHHH...now I get it. Yea...that makes sense. I guess because I was a girl scout for so many years I know you should always check your equipment before making the trip. But, you are right, not everyone would know to do that.
Thanks for the clarification.
