Thanks yall. I bought a little of everything I could find at Lowes today. The girl that checked me out just looked at me like I was crazy but oh well, at least I will be crazy and critter free. LOL
I've studied about calling the guy we rent from and let me know whats been going on. I pay to much money every month to put up with this stuff. lol I wouldn't mind even splitting the cost for someone to come out every month or so and spray stuff to keep bugs and all away. He probably won't do it though. He doesn't seem to do much of anything that needs to be done. 
He doesn't have to know that I have a cat does he (if and when I get one)?? LOL!! Should I tell or ask him up front or just let him find out on his own? He has only been to my house two times in over a year now.

by law they have to give you 24 hours(maybe more in some states) notice to enter your house unless it's an emergency...so yeah get the cat and don't say anything. if you know he is coming take kitty for a day trip! if he does a pop in chances are kitty will flea and hide from a stranger anyhow, if he sees kitty just tell him you had to get a cat because you couldn't get rid of the mice(or whatever)
PLEASE REMEMEBR NOT TO GET A CAT AND USE POISON! IF KITTY EATS POISONED MOUSE KITTY DIES TOO!
