Thread: Put an ad in the paper giving away swingset and playfort.

If I was near you I would come take it off your hands for ya. I have a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old and no outside toys, except for 1 bike and a truck thats big enough to run behind while pushing it. lol

Thats very sweet of you to give away like that. I'm sure you will make some kids very happy.

You told the second guy first come first served - he will understand. Whoever gets it will enjoy it, you did a nice thing!

I did a Free Cycle once for a ping pong table. One of the legs was missing the wheel, but could be propped up and used just fine. Anyway - this one caller was very concerned about the "slate", I told him the table top was fine, just the leg. When he gets to the house to pick it up, he looks at the leg, and says this is broken! He left saying the table wasn't worth it. It was free DUDE!!

Hey , get this. I have a similar story to share with you.....

I did the same thing last year.. sorta. I didnt list it in the paper though. I was having a yard sale and in my front yard I put up a sign FREE SWING SET. It was in my back yard. Of course I had all kinds of neighbor kids saying "ooh I want it, can I have it?" and I would tell them to have their parents come and get it if they want. One little girl came over and asked if I would hold it until her mom got off work so she could ask her mom. I told her NO I couldnt hold it because what if her mom told her no and someone else could have already taken it, etc. Well, a family pulled up with a pick-up and asked if it was spoken for and I told them they were welcome to it as long as they took it now. So they loaded it right up and were very appreciative,etc. Then Ill be darned later that afternoon a woman and a teenager pulled up in a pickup truck. The mom said her daughter told her we were holding a free swing set for her. I told the mom that I told the girl I couldnt hold it because I didnt know if they would come back etc considering she hadnt even asked her mom yet... anyways.. you get the gyst..... so the mom CUS'S ME OUT, gets in her truck and then FLIPS ME THE BIRD while driving away!! I about died! I had a yard full of ppl and this woman does this... talk about embarrassing.

Today I got 30 plus calls. Lost count.

Anyhow the one guy with the 4 and 6yo's came and dismantled the stuff.

Says he will pick it up Friday night along with a friend.

Yet the guy with the 8 month old I have not been able to contact at the number provided. Just don't want him to show up Saturday when the set is gone.

Yet I told him, first one here to dismantle and take away, it is theres.

Hmmm

I'll try calling him again Friday night when I get home from work.

Hope that the 4, 6 yo have a great time on your swing set.

As far as the Sat. guy w/ the 8 mo.....just don't answer the door,
if you feel there will be a confrontation. If he looks in the
yard, he will see no swing set.

What I think is you got to be pulling our legs! Is this a late April Fools prank, because I just can't imagine people being so rude & stupid at the same time! LOL

I think I would have just laughed at them and hung up the phone without saying anything.
