Re: ugh - would you report this? (different problem)
I would prolly report it, knowing his past but think about this.... the police may think you are just being jealous or can't get over this relationship or just trying to make trouble for him. Perhaps report it anonymously if that is possible...at this point, he really has done nothing wrong....and maybe they can *watch* him..good luck

Re: ugh - would you report this? (different problem)
My cousin was 20 dating a 17yr old girl, her dad found out, needless to say, they got him for statutory rape and he spent several years in prison for it.
If he gets that excited about looking at younger girls, then he's not going to stop with just looking or talking. I would certainly tell the parents of this girl he has his eye on about his past. Better safe than sorry.

Lots of good advice here. I would report to the authorities that you are concerned about this in any way you see fit.

Ok, we live in Kentucky ( I live in Lexington) and people like this are one of the very reasons our state ends up being the brunt of a Jay Leno joke a couple nights a week. Do y'all read the newspapers or watch the news? Have you heard about all the abduction attempts recently? If he's talking to girls that are not of legal age among other things she should report him. He seems to be showing signs of "criminal intent", the least thing the local authorities could do would be to send an extra car around a couple times a week. Prior issues aside, his behavior is socially unacceptable which is why we have laws to govern such behavior.

This is just a horror waiting to happen. Imagine how you will feel if he goes ahead and hurts some little girl? Better safe than sorry. I'd be grateful if it was my child.

I can totally see where you're coming from but i truly believe your best bet is to speak with the girl's parent's. I am relatively sure the authorities won't do anything at all.
You're right to be worried though. This one sounds like a sick MrFr

Go to my Dr. Phil thread that got moved to Reality section. I posted some sites that you can learn about internet pedophiles. Maybe they will have suggestions on what to do if you suspect someone of being one.
The law can't really do anything until something happens. I know it's frustrating but it does protect the innocent person. But it may be wise to tell someone anyway.
And how can a 20 year old be put into prison for dating a 17 year old? Sounds like a hateful father. People date at those ages and later get married.
