i know somoene who is drawing ssi. her live in boyfriend or whatever gets disability. she also gets a couple hundred every month for each of her kids. they get foodstamps. they have medical insurance that covers pretty much everything. the most they pay is a dollar for a perscription, if that. they won't get married because they would loose benifits. she says she can't work because of her back.

right. her backpack for college weighs about 50 lbs. no problem there. she cleans for extra money. no problem. she has a whole list of reasons she can't work and loose her ssi, but she can work under the table and get cash, no problem. that doesn't bother her. she has also made the remark that she doesn't want to work a real job until she gets done with college, because while she is on ssi she qualifies for a program that pays for everything.
i think she can work just fine and doesn't need ssi. like i said, she does everything she can for cash and that doesn't bother her, but she says she can't work and get a check because it would hurt her. she'd be doing the same thing she does now depending on the job she got. i think she is just trying to get all she can.
i think she should be reported, but i was wanting some other opinions. please share.

i have been trying for 2 yrs to get approved for SSI for a legit back back(have had two surgeries already) and i wanna know how she got it? I just got denied again and now have an attorney working on my appeal finally

Turn her sorry butt in....she makes the rest of us who cant do everyday things and need it look bad

isn't is funny how those who really need the assistance have to fight tooth and nail to get it and those who don't even need it can get it almost immediately?

Call your local social security dept and ask for the fraud dept.

This is a very comon situation, happens every where. You can turn them in, but very doubtful anything will be done about it. There is a woman in my town who is divorced but still living with husband, 4 kids, he works, she gets welfare, check, food stamps, medical card. Even people who know her here, helps every Christmas, buys her kids toys etc. Churches help her also. They call her Dirty Julie, she goes filthy dirty, so do her kids. She would come in the store where I use to work, buy case after case of beer, cartons of Marlboro's. she was turned in several times, once by my boss, who was told by the welfare to mind her own business, she was taking good care of her kids, they had a roof over their heads and hung up on her. So, you would be wasting your time.
Another lady, who is Native American, gets money from the government for being a native american, she gets welfare, the whole bit, lives with a man that gets disability, (nothing wrong with him at all, have known him all my life) they have 5 kids, one is disabled for real that gets a check. they have everything you could imagine. pool, new vehicles, 4 wheelers, all dress in the best clothes, remodeled home. Hired someone to do a murel on whole wall in living room. They have a great life. LOL They have been turned in also, but nothing done about it.
My daughter has tried on 2 occasions to get ssi and turned down because her husband makes to much money. He works for a cable co. She had cancer and still goes to all these doctors, because once you have cancer you are never ok, now its a heart doctor, plus the oncologist's problems caused by the cure, radiation and chemo. they have 2 kids. And his parents have to help them with bills, I can't afford to help them, barely making ends meet myself. The government sucks, when it come to helping people that really need the help. I live in a very small town, and these are only 2 families of about 30 all doing the same thing.

It is too darn common. I know a person who is getting SSI, TANF for her son, a HUD home. Her bf works for cash, because he owes tens of thousands of dollars in child support. She doesnt have her own daughter, she is living with her father. She constantly sticks her son in mental institutions so she dont have to "deal" with him. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this woman that she cant work. She was stealing purses in the local WalMart and grocery stores. She is a cocaine addict and she recently spent time in jail for the purse snatching. Now she is on house arrest, random drug tests are the norm, and she DEFINITELY should NOT be on SSI IMO. She is one of the MANY who ABUSE the system. And the people who work hard or have real disabilities can't afford insurance or prescriptions because of people like her who abuse the system and get away with it.

i will be calling tomorrow. i just wanted to make sure i wasn't the only one who thought she was abusing it. only problem is that she works mainly for friends and family, so they won't admit she's working for them. i am going to try anyway though. we know a guy who only has about 30% of his heart working, and he can't get ssi. he is on his 3rd try. he can't walk a foot without getting out of breath. makes me mad.
