Re: How many of you....
My mother used to take us to Goodwill all the time when we were little. I remember when I got pregnant with my first child she took me to one and bought A TON of baby clothes for wayyy cheap.
I went to one a few weeks ago and was actually kind of appalled. They had a pair of jeans hanging in the front that were marked $25.99. yes, you read that right.... $25.99 at Goodwill! I asked the clerk if that was an error and she said "no, thats the boutique section". I about fell over. The only thing we bought that day was a porcelain doll for my DD's collection. It was only $4.00 and was the same kind she collects so that was a good deal for her ( well me , I paid for it..hehe)
When my daughter was a baby there was a childrens consignment shop I always went to. She bought my daughters dresses and traded some things with me. I loved that shop.
Now I just love to hit garage sales!
You sound smarter when you keep your mouth shut.

Re: How many of you....
Oooooohh :raises hand:I'm a thrift whore My mom was pregnant with me when she worked at Goodwill, then my dad ended up working on the donation truck. When we were little we shopped, goodwill, yard sales, church rummage sales and whatever other thrift stores we could find.My bf loves it.I'd rather go to a thrift store than a mall! He spent $11.50 on me at Goodwill last week.I recently lost over 100 pounds so now I'm actually able to buy clothes. We found a purple denim shorts jumpsuit with an Eeyore patch on the front pocket and on the butt for $6,which ended up being half price so we got it for $3!I found a red long sleeved hoodie shirt for $3,a turquoise oraneg and white striped Clinique makeup bag that I'm using for a purse for $2 and a necklace for $2.I'm usually hitting the thrift stores every 2 weeks, when he gets paid.LOL,I always joke to him that I'm a cheap date!Give me a $2 purse and a $1 pair of flip flops and I'm a happy camper

Re: How many of you....
I love them. My sister and I would shop them out if we lived in the same town. Guess what we do when we get together.
Only bad thing is we can't bring ourselves to spend the high price at the regular stores. LOL
Martha Stewart would call them Tag Sales though.

Re: How many of you....
you all will prob laugh when you read this one.
I love second hand shops. i come from a family of 12 and dh family of 10. so we all bargain shop. there is a goodwill in ohio that we like to go to and buy clothes. but the funny part is we buy them in bundles. 500LB BUNDLES!!! its great we only pay $13 for the bundle and we all meet at mil and go thru them. alot of the times we get two bundles. so this way we all get great clothes and blankets. they are great.

Re: How many of you....
I love thrift stores! I gained a lot of weight after quitting smoking. I dont plan to stay this heavy so I shop second hand so when I hopefully lose weight I'm not stuck with a bunch of too-big expensive clothes. Plus I'm pure heck on clothes, always spilling something on my front. My husband also ruins a lot of clothes by not wearing his lab coat. He's an adhesives chemist so when he gets stuff on his clothes its on there for good. Buying second hand allows us to throw out the clothes we ruin without wasting a lot of money. Saturday I got a gold top for $3 that still had store tags on it, the price was originally $46! And I also got a wool blazer for $3 too. I bought my girlfriend an espresso machine (we both love espresso) for $5 as a house warming present. Several years ago I bought another girlfriend a $4 portable dishwasher for her 40th birthday, she told me it was the best present she got. She is disabled so the dishwasher came in handy. I'm also a collage artist so thrift shops are where I get a lot of stuff for my art.

Re: How many of you....
Love them, and our free cycle has an actual "store" like a good will. You just walk around and pick up things you want for free! People put things up on free cycle and if someone wants their name on it they get it. Lots of people just take stuff out there if they don't want to be bothered with offering and putting names on it. And if people don't pick up, after 3 week ends it goes out in the free room. The "taken" stuff is behind the counter. It's only open on week ends but people are offering the stuff all week. Having a central location makes it great. Yes I still go to thrift shops too. Because of space things get taken to Good Will when it has been there 4 weeks. Fun place to go.
