What should I do with this?

I had been having internet connection problems with my pc, so I called HP tech support and they had me do a bunch of different things including a destructive recovery

well they finally said that my modem was the cause and said they were sending me a new one.

My brother was over this weekend and I had him look at my pc. He opened up the tower and discovered that my modem was loose(must of happened when one of the kids knocked over the tower

)

So he pushed it back in and my pc has been fine ever since no problems at all.

Well the fedex man just brought me my new modem.

So should I send it back or keep it?

If I were you, I would keep the modem 'IF' it's still under warranty, incase you need it in the future. But if you are having to pay for it, send it back!

No, it was covered under my warranty.

Since it has been knocked over, there is still the possibility it could go bad. If you send it back and then ask for it again , there could be confusion and you may wind up without one. I would keep it.

ohhhhhhh here is a tricky question.....do I or dont I.....do what you feel you should do....personally I would call them and tell them what has happened and then they may still tell you to keep it just incase..

I'd keep it. And warrenty parts aren't normally 'new" parts anyways.... they are refurbished.
