I knew someone who did a "congratulations on getting your driver's license" themed one. The party must've been the weeekend after the actual birthday since you can't get a license here until officially 16. I don't know what they actually did for the party, but gifts were all driving- themed. Keychains, models of cars he WISHED he would be driving, car posters, car care kits, accessories, etc.

This was ripped from a few boards, but might help:

IDEAS FOR 16TH BIRTHDAY FOR BOYS:

#1. Scavenger hunt for 16-yr olds. Invite 8 boys and 8 girls. Each team is boy/girl. Their mission is to bring back 16 items. 16 - 1989 pennies; 16-pieces of fruits/veggies; 16-front pages of the newspaper; 16-empty soda cans, etc.

#2. Survivor Theme - When the guests arrive, give them a colored bandana to show them which "team" they are on. Serve "rat on a stick" (aka chicken shishkabobs) and "cow blood" (Hawaiian punch). Game ideas: Have the guests cover their eyes with the bandana and serve "native cuisine" ... peeled grapes are snake eyeballs, rice krispies covered in chocolate are animal poop, cold spaghetti are worms, unflavored gelatin is jellyfish, etc.

**That's about all I could find. Maybe you could even combine the 2 ideas??**
Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless
