    from Lifetime (I think)

LITCHFIELD (AP) - He was born into a turbulent family that forever changed Connecticut domestic violence laws, and now he's headed to jail for domestic violence.

Charles Motusick, 23, will serve six-and-a-half years in jail for violating his probation and assaulting a local woman. Motusick's parents are Charles and Tracey Thurman.

In 1983, his father beat, stabbed and nearly killed Tracy Thurman. She won a $2 million lawsuit against the city of Torrington after a court found that police failed to protect her.

Motusick was only two years old when his mother was beaten.
