    Any advice about acne products?

Ok, my little sister is 12, and she has pretty severe acne. She just started 7th grade, Jr high this year, 3 weeks ago, and it was under control over the summer but now it is flaring up pretty bad. We do not have health insurance so a dermatologist is out of the question. She was using the WalMart brand stuff, acne free or something like that and it worked ok but not great. My question for you is, do you guys know of any really good stuff on the market that will possible help clear it up? Any good experiences with a certain product? I would appreciate the help as she is really upset about this, and I don't want her to get picked on. Thanks in advance!!

When I was in high school I used stridex pads and had a beautiful completion. I stopped using them after I got out of high school, then in my late 20's I started getting acne really bad and nothing I tried seemed to make it any better. I suffered for several years and had about giving up hope when they came out with proactiv. I gave it a shot and it cleared my face up. I've not had acne since. I know it's expensive but the bottle last forever if your careful with it. I squeeze out a drop about the size of a pea and scrub my face in the morning and evening with it. I've been using it for several years now with no outbreaks. The best thing is I can now wear makeup. When I was a teenager I never needed any because I was blessed with a even olive complexion. Then when my face started breaking out if I tried to wear it to cover the acne up, it would just make the outbreaks worse. Now I can wear it without fear of breaking out thanks to Proactiv.
NEW ! => ISO LIST! please L@@K and see if you have something I need.

My 13 year old son's forehead was breaking out really bad. I bought him the Stidex pads and it cleared his forehead up. He still uses them to clean his face every night.

I've read so many good reviews about this stuff, from here and Drugstore.com so I bought some. It feels really, really good! Not sure if it cleared up my skin since I've been using perscription stuff at the same time, but the tinglyness is really cool! My sister liked it so much she took it to her friends house when she spent the night and I havn't seen it since.

Re: Any advice about acne products?

I think I have used every overy the counter meds known to man (minus the proactive), when we went to the docs a few weels ago, I asked what we could do about sons face, he wrote us 3 prescriptions one for an antibodic, and 1 for Clindamycin Phosphate Gel (1%), and one for Benzoyl Peroxide Gel (10%). My son has been using them all 3 for a little over 2 weeks and they really have helped. I would say within 2 weeks his face will be clear. We don't have insurance either but all total it was like $57.00 to get these 3 scripts filled. I have spent well over that on over the counter products that really never worked. Maybe each person acne is different then the others and what works for some may not work for others. I thought I would try these 3 things if they didn't work I would order the proactive for him. Our doc said its important to keep the face clean and the hair up off the forehead. I wish you luck, I know through my son how awful it is on kids to suffer from acne. I was so blessed I have only had afew pimples in my life.

Tea tree oil is really good for drying up pimples/clearing acne and its an all natural product. Puritan.com has the buy 1 get 2 free deal going on, so a bottle is roughly 5.00 there right now. Ive also heard great things about witch hazel but have yet to try it..

Keep in mind that most acne is bacteria based. So keeping your face clean is essential. If it is really bad, go to your local health department. Sometimes the only way to clear it up is with an anti-biotic.

    Red face ProActiv

I've heard ProActiv works really well....you might try that...their 30 day trial is only $19.95 on their website.
