Re: Ever Been A Bridesmaid??
been there twice n done that. The hardest part was the fittings of the dresses. If u don't hafta go thru all that business, it's a piece of cake. Ya walk, ya stand there, stand there more, walk and it's done. lol Ok wait. I did it three times. The last time I stood was for my bil who was doing a third marriage which was done at a park and it was a quick thing. Have a good time.

Theres nothing to it, I was a bridesmaid once and a maid of honor once (which is way tougher than a bridesmaid) you just pretty much stand there and smile. Have fun and dont be to nervous. Have fun

Re: Ever Been A Bridesmaid??
Theres an old saying some thing like "always a bridesmaid, never a bride"...well its the opposite for me, I am always a bride and never a bridemaid..lol I have been a matron of honor though. Have fun with it!
Be who you are and say what you feel, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Re: Ever Been A Bridesmaid??
i plan on having a lot of fun.. our dresses were custom made at this place out of the US. They are pink and we took our measurments (i had mine done by a seamstress) and took them to the bride. on wednesday we have final fittings and then saturday wear the dresses

Re: Ever Been A Bridesmaid??
Do you bridesmaids have to give a shower? Sometimes thatis expected. But if it's happening so fast, there may not be time. But no rule says you can't do it after the wedding, I guess.
The main thing is to be supportive to the bride. It's her day, and the best thing you can do it help her. Bring bobbypins, safety pins, and pepto. Trust me, you just never know.

The best advice I could give would be to be careful when you step up ( if you have to step up)...and when the minster prays, keep your eyes open....there's something about standing in heels with your eyes closed and you head bowed that makes you dizzy.

I would have to agree with that. In the last year I have been in so many weddings,( including my own) I am just sick of it, I am still very supportive to the bride with her needs and concerns, but being a bridesmaid gets to be very expensive. I am in one in October, my friend is driving me crazy with with shoes, she sends me links of different shoes (lives in a different state), calls me to look at them with her online and we look at shoes for like 3 hours. Then I have to put them in order of which one I like the best. When we tried dresses on same thing. LOL!!!! We always have a good time, so thats all that matters. I think I got a bridezilla. LOL!!!!

Re: Ever Been A Bridesmaid??
LOL thank god i dont have a bridezilla!!! the bride is paying for all of our bridesmaids dresses. well the groom is actually. shes also having our hair done. i just show up. she wanted everything to be very inexpensive for everyone since her family is not hurting and the bridesmaids are all starting college and inbetween jobs...
