Re: anyone's child take meds for bedwetting??

i can't think of what the name of that spray is but my oldest son used it and it worked really good! Also the doctor told me when my son hits puberty he will stop wetting the bed and sure enough he was right! My son is now 18 and has not had a problem in many years. The nose spray really does work.

My daughter who will be 8 in July still wets the bed. The Dr. said that happens. She is getting to the point of sleepovers, and it is embarassing in a pull up. I would appreciate anything you know.

My daughter is 12 and probably has one to two nights a month that she wets. She is so embarassed by it, and is on a med that is a mild antidepressant. She takes one before bed. It works most of the time. Our doctor keeps close tabs on her, and says she will outgrow it soon. I have heard of the nasal spray and don't think it's odd at all.

Re: anyone's child take meds for bedwetting??

    hey guys.
the name of the spray is desmpressin .01% spray. there is actually a pill that is chewable that would be much better, but my insurance wanted me to pay a $30 copay for it and $10 copay for the spray. bc the spray comes in a generic and the pill does not. so for those of you that have better insurance than we do ( which should be about everyone, lol) you can get the pill and it is much easier to "hide the fact" they are even taking anything for the ones who are self conscience. dd's dr told her if anyone asked, just say it is a nose spray for allergies. who's gonna know, right?
anyway. last night was the first night we used it and she still wet. which, i knew was a possibility. the dr said sometimes it has to be about 4 days for it to work. so hopefully she does not get discouraged. also, with this med. the pharmicist said to LIMIT the ammount of fluids before bed bc it can cause medical probs if you drink too much and then take this. so for beccas weight, it said she can take 2 oz. of fluid before bed. but i just told her after supper was the last drink she could have. she was fine witht hat. she is kinda used to it anyway as that was the first thing we did to try and curb the wetting.

just wanted to add that for one or two nights, they may not do anything. most that they put on it have very few dry nights, like my dd. she was dry only maybe two or three a month. but you can still check into it.
