Registering a dog with AKC (The American Kennel Club) question......

I don't know if anyone on here has any dogs that are registered with AKC, but if there is someone, I have a question.

My question is, Do you know about how long after you send the paperwork in to get your dog registered, if it is approved and everything, does it take for them to send you the actual papers (registration) for the dog?

If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I have six registered dogs with the AKC. All my paper work, three different registrations, went through the Raleigh, NC office. Could depend on where your paper work is handled and how busy they are. My paper work always said to allow 8-12 weeks to receive the official records. Most of the time it took about 4-6 weeks and I had their certificates. You should have a phone number you can call to check on the status if you haven't received the records in a decent amount of time.

since i've been breeding Min Pin's it always taks a long time to get papers back between the months of november to february. you can also email the AKC to find out statis of the papers since they don't have an 800-number.

We have 5 AKC registered Cockers. Our paperwork usually takes about 4-6 weeks to come. I thought there was a way to check your status online.... I will see if I can find a link for u and come back n let ya know.

    found this..hope it helps...

When the application has been received and processed by the AKC, an AKC Registration Certificate will be mailed to the owner. The owner should examine the certificate carefully and report any errors to the AKC. It takes about 18 working days to process an application.
